Glen Cove Avellino team that represented the LISFL in the 2017 Rapaglia Cup

9/24/17 - This week in the LISFL saw the league continue with games from the third week of play. Several of the teams were able to continue an undefeated start to the season and claim an early lead in their divisions.

Premier Division

Coming off an appearance in the 2017 ENYSSA Rapaglia Cup, Glen Cove Avellino faced a strong New York Polet side who came away with a 4-1 win on goals by Jordan Contreras, Andrew Heuer, Paul Sandoval, and Pacheco Rios. Miguel Martinez scored the consolation goal for Glen Cove.

Forest Park head coach Vincent Treglia gave the following account of his team's game vs Port Jefferson, "Port Jefferson had a 3-0 lead with 30 mins left to play. Forest Park brought the game back to 3-2, but fell just short with several great chances late in the game. Well played game by both teams with a lot of scoring chances for both teams throughout the entire game."

David Lawrence and Gonzalo Carignano were the goalscorers for Forest Park. Mosiah Whyte, Juan Pallares, and Brandon Frey scored for Port Jefferson who won their third game in a row to start the season.

Despite a goal by Mustaffa Alobeidy, PDB Irish Rovers came up short in a 2-1 win for New York Serbia. Boban Velcanovic and Zarko Kozlina were the goalscorers for Serbia.

Real New York FC and Port Jefferson Fusion played to a 1-1 tie. Negus Bogle scored for Real New York and Chase Lipshie scored for the Fusion.

Division 1

Glen Cove Avellino picked up a 7-3 win over New York Polet. Emmanuel Gamez led the way with 4 goals, while Andy Quinones, Krishna Nainani, and Lucas Viegas eached scored. Ahmed Islam scored both goals for Polet.

PDB Irish Rovers won 5-2 over New York Serbia. Santiago Bedoya led the way with 2 goals, while Mike Pedro, Chris Joseph, and Joshua Guriel each added a goal. Jabari Salandy and Raul Moran were the goalscorers for Serbia.

A Michael Anglim goal was all Port Jefferson Fusion needed in their 1-0 win over Real New York FC.

Division 2

Hicksville American SC came away with a 3-1 win over South Jamaica Portuguese on goals by Carlos Gomez, John Dembinski, and Favio Garay. Bruno Martins scored the lone goal for South Jamaica.

Olympiacos New York went to Floral Park and picked up a 4-1 win. Oscar Lugo scored twice, while Kostandinos Mendrinos and Christian Torres each scored for Olympiacos. Sean Johnson was the scorer for Floral Park.

College Point Flames continued an undefeated start to the season with a 2-0 win over Oyster Bay Park on goals by Anton Shipman and Alejandro Monsalve.

NY Ittihad FC and Oceanside United played to a 2-2 draw. Fawad Ahmad and Tenzig Thabkhe scored for NY Ittihad, while Brian Siergiej and Johnny Zator were the Oceanside goalscorers.

Division 3

Asteras New York won their second in a row by a score of 6-1 over New York Finest. Marc Villacis and Alexandros Ladas each scored 2 goals, while Tarko Ersid and George Angelides each added a goal for Asteras. Brenton Cole scored the lone goal for the Finest.

Asteras GCC and Farmingville Portuguese played to a 2-2 draw. Andi Loloci and Faidon Theofilakos each scored for Asteras, while Fabio Alves and Vincent Hammel scored for Farmingville.

NYCD Boldest Soccer FC came away with a 8-2 win over Athletico Union. Steven Bailey scored 4 goals, while Christon Charles, Loocken Vixama, Shane Sterling, and Osman Kukic eached scored. Ernesto Filizzola and Michel Richards were the goalscorers for Athletico Union.

Over 30

Glen Cove continued their strong start with a 3-2 win over Integral Kings. Alan Maragh, Dwight Jones, and Victor Avwontom scored for Glen Cove. Ricardo Burke scored twice for Integral.

Goals by Semal Selmanvoic and Michele Giacobbonne gave Istria a 2-0 win over Long Island Gaels VSP.

Polonez came away from Garden City with a 7-1 win over the Centennials. Artur Bielawski and Jerzy Jankowicz each scored twice, while Adam Piechota, Jacek Kaplan, and Pawel Borek each added a goal for Polonez. Brandon Finzel scored the lone goal for Garden City.

Port Jefferson defeated Lindenhurst 3-0 on goals by Stanley LaRoche, Anthony Trapani, and Pete Hansen.

Baisley United defeated New York Hota Bavarians 7-2. Ryan Reid scored a hat trick for Baisley, while Sheldon Wedderburn, Derrick Grant, Marco Hamilton, and Donovan Bernard each added a goal. Maceo Wilson scored twice for Hota.

Over-40

Baisley continued their successful Sunday with a 3-1 win over Lindenhurst. Anthony McCreath scored twice and Athol Shearer added a goal for Baisley, while Anthony Fassino scored for Lindenhurst.

Oyster Bay Park defeated Oceanside 2-1 on goals by Roberto Maldonado and Julio Marchant. Steve Evans scored the lone goal for Oceanside.

New York Hota Bavarians and Baldwin drew 1-1. Cheiek Tidiani scored for Hota, while Jean Dutreuil picked up the equalizer for Baldwin.

Over-50

Baisley concluded their hat trick of wins on Sunday with a 3-2 victory over New York Polet / Rudar. Stephen Williamson, Bertam Brown, and Ian Powell each scored a goal for Baisley. Sime Bergam and Mile Lukic were the Polet / Rudar goalscorers.

New York Hota Bavarians defeated Oyster Bay Park 7-1 with Raymond Campbell and Klifton Kong each scoring 2 goals, while Bryan Warde, Patrick O'Connor, and Uri Back each scored 1 goal.

Olympiacos New York fell short in a 3-2 loss to Polonia. Dariusz Stefanowski, Jacek Przybylski, and Gustavo Leon each scored a goal for Polonia. Georgios Moukas and Dimitrios Karavangelas were the Olympiacos goalscorers.
