Glen Cove Avellino team that finished the fall with the most points in Division 1

12/11/16 - This week in the LISFL saw Glen Cove Avellino win a decisive game in East Hampton to finish top of their group and with the most points in Division 1 as the league now enters it's winter break.

Division 1

Port Jefferson SC started the day off with a big 6-1 win over Kew Forest FC to keep pace with New York Polet in Flight B of the LISFL's Division 1. Ron Pressley scored twice for Port Jefferson, while Dennis Bocanegra, Juan Pallares, and Pete Hansen added goals. Christian Filizzola was the goalscorer for Kew Forest FC.

In the reserve game, Zanetti Alberick led the way with 4 goals as Port Jefferson picked up a 7-0 win to stay in first place in Flight B of the D1 Reserve Division. Pete Hansen, Ron Pressley, and Raul Bonilla added goals for Port Jefferson.

New York Irish Rovers defeated Real New York FC 4-2 to keep pace with East Hampton and Glen Cove in Flight A of the LISFL's Division 1. Alagie Janneh scored twice, while Mohamed Kaba and Arsene Oka added goals for Rovers. Kyeano Jones and Diego Ramocan scored for Real NY.

Rovers won the reserve game 3-2 to stay in first place of Flight A of the D1 Reserve Division. Ogbuji Monday, Ryan Lang, and Anatoliy Taranenko scored for Rovers, while Rohan Smith scored twice for Real New York.

Forest Park ended the fall with a 6-1 win over Port Jefferson Fusion. Gonzalo Carignano led the way with 2 goals, while David Lawrence, German Parodis, Ronald Mongie, and Mike Lejuez also scored for Forest Park. Brian Miller scored for the Fusion.

Forest Park won the reserve game 3-1 to keep pace with Irish Rovers in Flight A of the D1 Reserve Division. Ronald Martinez, Alex Martinez, and Edwin Hernandez scored for Forest Park, while Brian Schanel scored for the Fusion.

East Hampton vs Glen Cove Avellino ended in a big 2-0 win for Glen Cove. Tyler de la Torre and John Crawbuck scored the goals that allowed Glen Cove to reclaim first place in Flight A of Division 1. With 23 points, Glen Cove also finsh the fall with the most points in the division.

The reserve game between East Hampton and Glen Cove finished in a scoreless draw.

New York Polet also picked up a big 4-1 win over New York Serbia to finish in first place of Division 1's Flight B. Fabian Santibanez and Misin Shala each scored twice for Polet in the win.

Ivan Vulin scored for Polet as the picked up a 1-1 tie with Serbia in the reserve game.

Division 2

New York West Indies United won 5-0 over Farmingville Portuguese to claim first place in the East Group of Division 2 on goal difference over Oceanside United. Sardou Figaro scored twice for West Indies, while Fernander Demas, Ryan Steadman, and the ageless Roody Belotte added goals.

Themann Cup

Tom Garafola continues to be on fire for the College Point Flames as he scored a hat trick in their 5-0 win over SS Cosma Damiano. Dan Tarter and Chris Gorzynski also scored for the Firemen, who advance to the Cup Final, where they'll face West Indies.

Reitschlin Cup

Glen Cove Avellino picked up another big win by defeating Integral Kings 3-2 to advance to the Cup Final. Damion James scored twice and Daviean Laing added a goal for Glen Cove. Lawrence Maitland scored twice for Integral.

Baisley United also reached the Cup Final with a 3-1 win over New York Hota Bavarians. Ryan Reid scored twice for Baisley, while a Hota own goal gave Baisley their third.
