Floral Park remain undefeated after their 3-0 win over Olympiacos NY

10/2/16 - This week in the LISFL was the fourth league game for many of the teams. It gave each team an opportunity to determine if they're on course for a good season or if changes need to be made. With each team battling for some precious early season points, many exciting games were held throughout the league.

Division 1

Forest Park picked up 2 valuable wins over Real New York FC in both the first team and reserve games. An Andrew Lomanto goal was all Forest Park needed in the first team game to pick up a 1-0 win. Goals by Andre Lee, Henry Hernandez, and Mamaday Donzo gave the reserves a 3-0 win.

East Hampton FC traveled to the Port Jefferson Fusion and came away with a 4-1 win in the first team game. Julian Barahona, Gehider Garcia, John Romero, and Rafael Godinho scored for East Hampton. Panagiotis Kabankis scored his fourth goal of the season for the Fusion in the loss.

Both teams had to settle for a 3-3 tie in the reserves game. Sean Hamilton, Timothy Berdon, and Riccardo Griffiths scored for the Fusion. Luis Barrera, Rafael Godinho, and Furkan Akyol had the goals for East Hampton.

League President Gus Xikis was at the first team game between Rovers and Kew Forest and said, "It was a well played game by two good teams. Kew Forest have had a slow start to the season, but they played well and either team easily could have won. If Kew Forest keep playing like that, I expect to see them get some wins very soon."

New York Serbia's first team picked up a big win away to Port Jefferson by a score of 3-2. Serbia was leading 1-0 at half-time, and shortly after the start of the second half, Lino Pereira scored an "Olympic Goal" for Port Jefferson to tie the game at 1-1. Serbia came right back and scored twice to take a 3-1 lead. Port Jefferson kept battling, but a late Anthony Panebianco goal was not enough as the game ended 3-2. Alexis Adrian, Ognen Hristovski, and Boris Papic scored the goals for Serbia.

Port Jefferson had a 2-0 lead in the first half of the reserves game on goals by Eli Whyte and Zanetti Alberick. Serbia tied the game at 2-2 in the second half on goals by Dane Cardiel and Alexis Adrian. With 4 minutes left in the game, Malik Simpson scored for Port Jefferson to give them a 3-2 win.
