What started in September comes to an end this weekend as the LISFL 2013-2014 League Championships will be decided for each division. The games begin on Friday night as Division 3 upstarts East Hampton F.C. play Panatha USA at 8:00 PM under the lights of Diamond in the Pines in Coram, NY.

East Hampton had one of the most dominant seasons ever in Division 3 going undefeated and only allowing 5 goals in 15 games thus far. Meanwhile Panatha USA defeated Floral Park on penalty kicks to reach the Division Final.

The rest of the games will be held on Sunday June 1 at the Verrazano Complex in Brooklyn. First up at 10:00 AM will be the Over-30 Division Final between New York Polet and Port Jefferson SC. Each team is loaded with many well known players from the local area who've played in the LISFL throughout recent years. Both teams finished the season with only 1 loss and led the East and West Groups throughout.

The Division 1 Reserves Final will be contested at 12:00 PM between Istria SC and Mineola Portuguese. Istria had a strong season winning 12 games to earn 36 points, which was the highest point total in the division. Mineola edged some strong teams in closely contested East Group and defeated Forest Park 4-1 to reach the Final.

There'll be two games at 2:00 PM as the Over 40 Division Final between Lindenhurst and Polonia will be played along with the Division 1 Final between Port Jefferson SC and Istria SC.

Lindenhurst and Polonia both went undefeated throughout the 2013-2014 season and led their respective groups. Each team has had plenty of success throughout the years and have shown that they're capable of winning the championship.

Port Jefferson vs Istria is easily the most anticipated game the LISFL has had all season. Port Jefferson led Division 1 with 14 wins and 43 points. They defeated College Point by a score of 4-0 in the semi-final to continue their dominant form.

Istria narrowly defeated Oyster Bay Fenerbahce USA 4-2 on penalty kicks, after a thrilling semi-final game that ended 3-3. Both teams are expected to have their full roster of players available to them. Istria will also be looking to avenge a 3-1 loss from October that occurred in the LISFL Division 1 McKim League Cup.

The final game of the day will be the Division 2 Final between New York Olympiacos and New York West Indies United. In the semi-finals, New York Olympiacos defeated MLMIF - New York Towers 1-0 to reach the final, while New York West Indies defeated New York Serbia 5-4 on penalty kicks.

The LISFL Over-50 Division was completed earlier in the month with New York Hota Bavarians winning the championship and Baisley United finishing as runners-up.

LISFL President Gus Xikis said, "I can't wait for the games coming up this weekend. I'll be at all of the games with many of the LISFL Board members to see the conclusion of a historic league season. Everyone from our volunteers who help run the league, the clubs, the players; have all worked very hard to demonstrate why the LISFL is recognized as an Elite Amateur League by the USASA. My hope is that everyone within the local soccer community will come out to see some great games."
